A shade pavilion for a summer event in Northern California. Paper parasols were suspended to protect guests from the harsh sun during the late afternoon cocktail reception. The structure was assembled over the course of the week prior and dismantled the next day. The installation was required to have no lasting impact on the landscape.

The parasols ultimately served as a rain shelter when the weather turned.
